REUNITE and revive the traditions of the holy month with family and friends over an extravagant Salam Iftar Ramadan spread at Hotel Equatorial Penang’s nada lama starting this Monday to July 5.
The lavish feast will feature scrumptious recipes that have withstood the test of time.
Be spoilt for choice with the extensive selections in four rotational menus, specially prepared by the talented culinary team.
The appetiser section beckons with a vast array of acar, ulam-ulam(complemented by various types of sambal), gado-gado, lemang, kerabu, assorted pickles, keropok as well as seafood on ice.
Soup consists of Hainan seafood, bebola ikan sayuran, tulang Mamak style, sweet corn chowder, ekor ala Thai, hot and spicy Szechuan, ayam aneka and cream of mushroom, all served with assorted bread rolls and roti Bengali.
Hot dishes comprise of ayam asam pedas rempah, kambing briyani gajus, daging masak merah, stir-fried squid kam heong style, slow-cooked rosemary lamb shoulder, terung berlada, Japanese-style chicken wings and udang kapitan Melaka.
From the action stalls are Vietnamese pancake, Mongolian BBQ, kibas panggang with nasi Arab, tempura, chicken sharwarma, dim sum, nasi ulam kampung, ikan bakar, ice kacang and cendol.
Over at the grill station, the fragrance of sizzling chicken and beef satay, beef steak, sausages, chicken wings and squids are bound to whet appetites.
The Thai Corner features mouth-watering crispy fried crab with turmeric, red curry chicken, creamy tom yam seafood soup, Thai fish cake, deep-fried quail, and marinated deep-fried baby squid, to name a few.
Not forgetting Equatorial’s famous chilli crab, noodles like mee bandung and prawn mee, murtabak, cucur udang ‘Sri Pulau’, roti jala sulung berinti and goreng-goreng of karipap, pisang, samosa, keledek, keladi and cempedak.
A must-try is the nasi kukus stall — nasi lemak pandan hijau or nasi kerabu to go with ayam goreng mutiara, daging kari kerisek, udang bercili petai and ikan tongkol sambal tauchu, amongst others.
There is also free flow of sugar cane and nutmeg juice, sirap bandung, soya milk,sirap selasih, air mata kucing and teh tarik.
With 12 different types of dessert every day, the sweet indulgences like orange cream caramel, peanut butter mousse, black forest cheese cake and mango panna cotta are sure to tantalise taste buds.
To complete the sumptuous dining are bubur such as pengat pisang, nangka, durian dengan pulut, pengat keledek, pulut hitam, kacang hijau, kacang merah, jagung and gandum.
The Salam Iftar Ramadhan, available from 6.30pm to 10pm, is priced at RM120 nett for adults and RM60 nett for children.
