Chicken hor fun tastes good despite coarse noodle texture.
IF you are in Kuantan, do give T&L coffeeshop’s chicken hor fun a try.
I was on my way home after a weekend bicycle ride from Cherating to Chukai in Terengganu, and found the makan place (GPS N 03 49.407, E 101 20.064) along Jalan Berserah.
T&Lcoffeeshop is located in Jalan Berserah, Kuantan.
My wife Michelle and I ended up at the coffeeshop, which was packed with customers, and the dishes people were mainly going for were the porridge and chicken hor fun.
Once seated, a helper took our order and placed chopsticks, spoons and sauce dishes on the table.
We ordered two bowls of kwon-loh (dry gravy) hor fun and a plate of chicken (top pic) with some beansprouts (taugeh). When the dishes arrived, we shared the wat kai (steamed chicken).

Michelle described the hor fun as “not bad”. “It’s different compared to the ones we had in KL and Ipoh. “The noodles are coarse, but they taste rather good,” she said.
I found the chicken to be above average and when we asked for the bill, our noodles and chicken came up to RM7.50.
This was perhaps one of the cheapest breakfast treats we ever had in the east coast.

This makan place opens for breakfast and lunch daily, and is closed on certain Chinese festivals including Chinese New Year.
