TREAT family and friends at the Royale Bintang Resort & Spa Seremban this Ramadan as the hotel is offering authentic Malay cuisine complete with traditional delicacies.
The breaking-of-fast menu at the hotel?s Asiatique restaurant features timeless Malay favourites such as daging goreng Jawa (Javanese-style stir-fried meat), kambing pudina (mint lamb), tenggiri asam pedas (spicy sour fish), ayam masak lemak mangga (chicken in creamy coconut gravy with mango) and gulai tulang rawan (beef bone curry).
The restaurant serves more than 100 items daily, with a rotating menu that gives repeat diners a chance to try something different each time.
Appetisers alone include a variety of salads, kerabu and pickles served with sambal and crackers.
Reminiscent of festive Ramadan bazaars, makeshift stalls or warung doling out freshly prepared food are also set up within the restaurant.
Among the popular stalls are Warung Kerabu and Ulaman which offer freshly prepared local salads and a range of tasty palate teasers including lemang, serunding (meat floss) and pergedil sayuran (vegetable cutlets); Warung Singgah Sepetang which serves tea-time snacks such as cucur udang (prawn fritters) and Warung Taj Mahal for its lip-smacking nasi briyani.
The nasi briyani served with lamb is popular with guests during Ramadan.
The restaurant and its outdoor seating area will be transformed into a kampung-like atmosphere with the attap-roofed warung dotting the poolside and traditional lamps lining pathways.
Hotel sous chef Mohd Adib Hassan said diners would be spoilt for choice with the variety of food on offer at the breaking-of-fast buffet.
“Besides the spread of curries, we also have 20 warung whipping up Ramadan favourites from laksa to roast lamb.
“Even the fussiest of diners will be pleased with our selection,” he said.
For a sweet finish to cap their meals, guests can take their pick from a selection of desserts including traditional Malay kuih such as bubur pulut hitam (black glutinous rice porridge), as well as a range of traditional cakes and French pastries.
The buka puasa buffet is priced at RM75++ per adult and RM40++ per child.
