Recipe Ingredient
- 300g Shantung peanuts
- 3 star anise
- 5cm cinnamon stick
- 5 dried chillies
- 2.5 litres water
- 100ml light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp thick soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 50g rock sugar
Instructions
- Rinse, then soak peanuts overnight in the refrigerator.
- Drain peanuts well and combine with the rest of the ingredients in a deep stockpot. Cook to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 2-3 hours or until the peanuts are tender to the bite. Dish out and serve with a little of the sauce as an accompaniment.
