Recipe Ingredient
- Ingredients (A) :
- 200g freshly-grated white coconut
- 2 green chilies, seeded and chopped
- 1/2 cup mint leaves
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1cm ginger, chopped
- 2 tbsp channa dhal, soaked
- 1/4 tsp urad dhal, soaked
- Seasoning :
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp mustard seeds (biji sawi)
- 2 dried chilies, torn with seeds removed
- a few curry leaves
- a pinch of asafoetida powder
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients (A) in a food processor and process into a coarse texture.
- Heat oil in a saucepan and fry the seasoning ingredients (except the asafoetida powder) until the mustard seeds start to pop.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and add in the blended coconut mixture and asafoetida powder.
- Dish out and serve with thosai or idli.
