Recipe Ingredient

  • 9 slices white bread
  • 9 slices wholemeal bread
  • Some table margarine for spreading
  • Some mesclun leaves
  • Some alfalfa sprouts
  • Some cucumber and tomato slices
  • Some tartar sauce
  • 3 slices smoked turkey roll
  • 100g canned tuna in brine, drained and flaked
  • 2 tbsp chopped cucumber
  • 1 tsp chopped red chilli
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chilled mayonnaise
  • Salt and freshly-ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim white and wholemeal bread slices in any desired shape.
  2. Spread a layer of tuna filling on a slice of wholemeal bread. Add some alfalfa sprouts and mesclun leaves. Put a piece of white bread over. Top up with another layer of tuna filling. Add more alfalfa sprouts and mesclun over. Place another slice of wholemeal bread on top.
  3. Wrap sandwich in cling film and place in freezer to chill for 10-15 minutes before serving.
  4. To prepare tuna filling for sandwich: Combine well-drained tuna, cucumber and chilli in a bowl. Add mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and ground black pepper to mix.
  5. For the turkey roll sandwich: Place a piece of smoked turkey roll on a slice of white bread. Add a few slices of cucumber. Squeeze a little tomato sauce over and add a little tartar sauce.
  6. Place a slice of wholemeal bread over. Add a few slices of tomato, mesclun leaves and alfalfa sprouts.
  7. Cover with another slice of white bread. Wrap up in cling film and chill for 10 minutes before serving.
