Recipe Ingredient
- 500g Basmati rice
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp oil
- 6 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- 780ml water
- 55ml evaporated milk
- ½ tsp chicken stock granules
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 screwpine leaves, knotted
- 40g raisins
- Ingredients (A)
- 3cm cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise
- 5 cardamoms
- 4 cloves
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ground fennel
Instructions
- Wash rice and soak in water mixed with ground turmeric for 30-35 minutes. Drain the rice well.
- Heat ghee and oil. Fry ginger and garlic until fragrant. Add ingredients (A). Stir in water, evaporated milk, stock granules and salt.
- Put rice in a rice cooker. Rake rice with a fork and add the cooked mixture and screwpine leaves. Cover and cook. Stand rice for 15 minutes, then fluff up and stir in raisins.
