Recipe Ingredient
- 300g rice
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 clove garlic
- 4 shallots
- 1 cm piece ginger, crushed
- 2 cm piece cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
- 2 cardamoms
- 1 star anise
- 2 screwpine leaves, shredded and knotted
- 1¾ cups water
- 2 tbsp evaporated milk
- Seasoning
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chicken stock granules
- 50g raisins
Instructions
- Wash the rice thoroughly, then drain well and put into an electric rice cooker.
- Heat margarine and oil in a wok, and sauté shallots, ginger and garlic. Add in cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise and cardamoms, and continue to fry until fragrant.
- Add in water, evaporated milk and seasoning. Stir well then bring to a boil and pour the contents straight into the rice cooker. Add screwpine leaves. Switch on to cook until rice is done.
- Stand for 10-20 minutes. Fluff up the rice and sprinkle in the raisins to mix. Serve immediately.
