Recipe Ingredient

  • 560ml stock
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 tbsp dark soya sauce
  • 3/4 tsp Chinese Five Spice powder to be mixed with a bit of water
  • Pepper and monosodium glutamate to taste
  • 1 tbsp tapioca flour mixed with enough water
  • 1/2 egg white
  • A little oil

Instructions

  1. Mix all the seasoning ingredients with the stock and bring to a low boil. Lastly, add tapioca flour mixture slowly (you may drip it) to make sure that the sauce gets sticky.
  2. Add half a beaten egg white for texture and a little oil for a glossy effect.

    Hi. Want to know what is the difference between brown sauce for penang lobak and sticky tapioca sause for penang lobak? I confused cause the ingredients almost the same. Thanks!
