Recipe Ingredient
- 1 kg spareribs
- Marinade
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 1 tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- ¾ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- ¼ cup water
- Sauce ingredients:
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice from 2 lemons
- 2 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 150 ml water
Instructions
- Rinse spareribs well and chop into 3cm lengths. Combine spareribs with marinade ingredients in an airtight container and leave in the refrigerator to marinate overnight.
- Drain the spareribs in a plastic colander, then deep-fry them in a wok of hot oil until golden brown. Remove the spareribs and drain well.
- Cook the sauce ingredients in a clean wok. Once it starts to boil, add the pre-fried spareribs. Cook until sauce is thick and the meat is well coated with the sauce.
- Serve immediately.
