Recipe Ingredient
- 500g spareribs
- ½ tsp chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped celery
- Marinade
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1/8 tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp potato flour
- 1 tsp plain flour
- ½ tsp sesame oil
- Sauce ingredients
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 3 tbsp black pepper sauce
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Wash spareribs and trim off excess fat. Cut into 4cm pieces. Season with marinade for several hours or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
- Heat oil in a wok and deep-fry marinated spareribs for 3-4 minutes and drain.
- Combine sauce ingredients and prefried spareribs in a pot and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer covered for 40-45 minutes or until meat is tender and sauce reduced.
