Recipe Ingredient
- 250g plain flour, sifted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 125ml or 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Put flour in a mixing bowl. Mix in salt, sugar and yeast. Make a well in the middle of the flour and pour in the water and add the olive oil. Use a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients.
- Once the initial mixing is done, knead lightly until a soft dough is formed. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6-10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Gather up into a ball.
- Lightly oil the dough ball and the inside of a mixing bowl. Place the dough in the bowl and cover with tea towel. Let it stand at room temperature for about an hour to rise until double in bulk.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface again until smooth. Roll out to form a 30-32cm diameter circle. Place the rolled out dough on a lightly greased pizza tray.
- Spread with your own basic tomato sauce. Add topping of your choice and bake in a preheated oven at 210°C-220°C for about 25-30 minutes or until the base is crispy and browned.
