Recipe Ingredient

  • 4-6 tblsp oil
  • Spice paste:
  • 50gm (5cloves) garlic
  • 40gm shallots (4)
  • 15 chekur root
  • 2tsp peppercorn
  • 2tsp corriander powder
  • 200gms sugar
  • 600gm radish grated finely and squeezed dry
  • 75gm sago soaked for 10mins then drained
  • 80gm candid winter melon diced
  • Batter mixture:
  • 250gm rice flour
  • 400ml water
  • 4tsp salt
  • Garnish:
  • 100 gms crushed roasted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oil to saute spice paste till fragrant, add sugar and radish, stir to disolve sugar.
  2. Add sago, melon and batter mix. Cook over medium heat till thick and sticky. Add more water if batter is too thick, turn off heat.
  3. Steam a well greased tray over boiling water. Pour batter and steam 30mins.
  4. Garnish with peanuts, cool overnight before cutting.
