You must definitely try out this steamed prawn in Chinese ginger wine, perfect comfort food that warms your body and soul in cold and rainy days.
Recipe Ingredient
- 400g large prawns
- 1 egg white
- 250ml ginger wine
- 50ml water
- Seasoning (A):
- ½ tsp pepper
- ¾ tsp sugar
- 1 tsp light soy sauce
- 1/8 tsp salt
- ½ tsp chicken stock granules
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Devein and trim the prawns but leave whole. Wash and drain the prawns well in a colander. Add egg white to the prawns and toss well.
- Combine wine, water and seasoning in a heatproof bowl. Place in a wok and steam for 4-5 minutes or until the drunken stock is hot.
- Put in the prawns and steam over high heat for 10-12 minutes or until prawns are cooked through. Do not overcook the prawns otherwise they will be tough and rubbery in texture.
- Serve the prawns hot.
