Recipe Ingredient
- 1 ikan patin
- 1 old Chinese cucumber (timun tua), remove seeds and cut into pieces
- Pound:
- 20 sen worth of cilipadi
- 3 chillies
- 5 shallots
- 1 clove garlic
- 2.5cm fresh turmeric
- 4 tbsp tempoyak (fermented durian paste, available from pasar tani or supermarkets)
- 4 sprigs daun kesum
- 2 stalks serai, smashed
- 2 bunga kantan
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt and sugar to taste
Instructions
- Fry pounded ingredients. Add daun kesum, serai, bunga kantan and enough water for gravy. Cook till gravy thickens.
- Add fish and old cucumber. Season with salt and sugar. Lower heat and simmer till fish and cucumber are cooked.
