Recipe Ingredient
- 200g fish fillet, sliced thickly
- 6 medium large prawns, shelled leaving tails intact
- A dash of salt and pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3-4 tbsp cornflour
- Batter
- 5 tbsp plain flour
- 3 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
- 100ml water
- 2 tbsp corn oil
- Dipping sauce (combined)
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp chilli sauce
- ½ tsp mustard (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Lightly season fish with salt and pepper. Cut a slit in the back of the prawns and remove the black entrails. Put fish and prawns in a deep plate. Add the beaten egg. Toss in cornflour. Shake off excess flour and put aside.
- Mix batter ingredients and leave aside to rest for 10 minutes. Dip fish and prawns in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil until crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain. Serve with the dipping sauce.
