Recipe Description

In this One Pan Spaghetti series, this fiery tomato Prawn Arrabiata Spaghetti is sure to please you and other spice lovers out there! 

Recipe Ingredient

  • 200g spaghetti (uncooked)
  • 3 nos garlic (sliced)
  • 1/2 nos big onion (sliced)
  • 1&1/2 tsp italian mixed herbs
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 200g prawns (deveined)
  • 1-2 nos small red chili (stalk and seeds removed)
  • 1/2 pack cherry tomatoes (cut into halves)
  • 1 canned chopped tomatoes
  • 600ml water
  • some salt & black pepper
  • 1 stalk english parsley (chopped)
  • (optional) parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. First, season the prawns with some salt and pepper. Heat up pan with 1Tbsp of olive oil and sear each side for 1-2 minutes or till prawns are cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add in the remaining 1 Tbsp of olive oil and pan fry the sliced garlic, onions, chilies and cherry tomatoes till fragrant. Add in the italian mixed herb midway.
  3. Then, incorporate the whole can of chopped tomatoes followed by 600ml of water. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes before adding in your uncooked spaghetti.
  4. Season lightly with some salt and let it boil for 12-14 minutes on med to low heat. Make sure to stir occasionally to avoid spaghetti from sticking together.
  5. Once spaghetti has cooked till al dente, incorporate the cooked prawns and mix well. Season with more salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Garnish with some chopped english parsley and parmesan cheese before serving. Enjoy!
  7. Tips
  8. Make sure to stir occasionally to prevent the spaghetti from sticking to the bottom of the pan
  9. Gradually add additional 100ml of water if you find your spaghetti has not cooked but is lacking in liquid. Just remember to season accordingly
  10. You can start checking if your spaghetti is cooked after 10 minutes into boiling
