Recipe Ingredient

  • 500g large prawns
  • Seasoning:
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • half an egg white
  • B combined:
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • Enough oil for deep-frying
  • Chilli dipping sauce combined:3 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp juice of limau kasturi small limes
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Make a slit at the back of the prawns and devein.
  2. Dry prawns with a tea towel and marinate with seasoning (A) for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Dip seasoned prawns in combined breadcrumbs and rice flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a wok until hot.
  5. Deep-fry prawns until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve the prawns with the dipping sauce
