Recipe Ingredient

  • 3 tbsps MAGGI® Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • 3 shallots, finely sliced
  • 1 red chilli, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped finely
  • A pinch of sugar

  • 8 tofu, cut diagonally
  • 2 tbsps MAGGI® Concentrated Chicken Stock
  • 2 cloves garlic, pounded
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tbsps toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine MAGGI® Light Soy Sauce, water, sesame oil, garlic, shallots, red chilli, lemon juice, coriander leaves and sugar. Set aside until tofu is fried.
  2. Cut tofu diagonally and marinate with MAGGI® Concentrated Stock, garlic (from Ingredients B) and white pepper for about 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet or wok set over moderately high heat. Fry tofu pieces until golden brown.
  4. Remove tofu from oil and place in a deep serving dish or shallow bowl.
  5. Pour chilli mixture over tofu, turning pieces to coat evenly. Sprinkle with crushed, toasted sesame.
