Recipe Ingredient

  • 325g green beans, washed and dried in the sun
  • 175g sugar
  • 100ml water

Instructions

  1. Fry the green beans in a pan over very low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Leave to cool. Place beans in an electric blender and grind till fine.
  2. Put the ground beans in a large mixing bowl. Add the sugar. Gradually add the water bit by bit and stir well to mix and combine until the texture of the mixture is like fine breadcrumbs.
  3. To test, press mixture well together to form a lump.
  4. Fill up a wooden {luk tau paeng} mould with the bean mixture pressed firmly into it. Level, then scrape off any excess with a palette knife.
  5. Lightly tap the biscuit out onto the table, then place the biscuit on a tray. (Tray needs no greasing.)
  6. Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 170 ºC for 30 to 40 minutes or until they are cooked. Remove and cool on a wire rack, then store in an airtight container.
