Recipe Ingredient
- 500g chicken, cut into bited-sized pieces
- 2 onions, chopped/diced
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 2 ginger paste
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 sprigs curry leaves
- 2 tbsp plain chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup water (optional)
- oil
- salt to taste
- Grind following spices till fine
- 5 cloves
- 5 cardamoms
- 1 star anise
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp fennel
Instructions
- Marinate chicken pieces with ingredients (A) for two to three hours in the refrigerator.
- Heat five tablespoons oil and fry ingredients (B) and (C) until fragrant. Add ingredients (D) and saute until aromatic and oil rises to the top.
- Stir in chicken, water and yoghurt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until chicken is tender and gravy thickens.
- Season to taste.
