Recipe Ingredient

  • you will need aluminium foil & skewer or toothpick
  • 1 whole chicken
  • soya sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • 1 packet of any Chinese herbal for soup. ( recommended pak chan )
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken dry and marinade it with mix of soya sauce and oyster sauce. Rub the inner of the chicken and leave it a while.
  2. Heat up some oil, enough to fry the whole chicken skin till golden brown. This will take around 1 to 1 1/2 minute.
  3. Rinse the half cook chicken and put aside to cool down.
  4. mix well the chinese herbal with some water then stuff 3/4 of the herbal into the chicken and also pour the water into it then seal the chicken with the skewer.
  5. Placing the chicken facing upwards on aluminium foil to avoid the water inside from flowing out. Pour the balance of the herbal/water on the chicken and add some soya sauce, some water so the chicken will be soft and tender & pinch of pepper for taste and then wrap the aluminium foil ( make it 2 - 3 layers ).
  6. Put the whole chicken in the steamer and steam around 45 - 60 min and server hot.
  7. P/N : the water must be in boilng state when putting the chicken in and always keep the water sufficient for steaming.
