Recipe Ingredient

  • 300g minced beef or lamb
  • 1 tsp cardamom seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 250ml water
  • 60g chopped onion
  • 12g ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 10g ginger paste
  • 10g garlic paste
  • Spice paste (mixed with a little water into a paste)
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1¼ tbsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • 3 tbsp meat curry powder
  • 1 sprig coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 2 big tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 2 potatoes, grated
  • Salt to taste
  • 4-5 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a nonstick saucepan, add the bay leaves and cardamom seeds and sauté until fragrant. Add onions, ginger and green chilli. Sauté for a while. Add ginger and garlic paste and combined spice paste. Stir-fry for a minute.
  2. Add in minced meat. Keep stirring until moisture evaporates. Pour in water and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Add potatoes, cover then continue to simmer until potatoes are cooked. Add tomatoes. Cover and simmer until meat is tender.
  3. Sprinkle in garam masala powder and add coriander leaves. Dish out and serve.
