Recipe Ingredient
- 300g minced beef or lamb
- 1 tsp cardamom seeds
- 2 bay leaves
- 250ml water
- 60g chopped onion
- 12g ginger, finely chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 10g ginger paste
- 10g garlic paste
- Spice paste (mixed with a little water into a paste)
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1¼ tbsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 3 tbsp meat curry powder
- 1 sprig coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 2 big tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 2 potatoes, grated
- Salt to taste
- 4-5 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a nonstick saucepan, add the bay leaves and cardamom seeds and sauté until fragrant. Add onions, ginger and green chilli. Sauté for a while. Add ginger and garlic paste and combined spice paste. Stir-fry for a minute.
- Add in minced meat. Keep stirring until moisture evaporates. Pour in water and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Add potatoes, cover then continue to simmer until potatoes are cooked. Add tomatoes. Cover and simmer until meat is tender.
- Sprinkle in garam masala powder and add coriander leaves. Dish out and serve.
