Recipe Ingredient
- 800g beef tenderloin, sliced thickly
- 1 radish, cut into wedges
- 2 litres water
- Ingredients (A)
- 4 tbsp rock sugar
- 4 star anise
- 5cm cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp Szechuan peppercorns
- 6-7 slices liquorice (kam choe)
- 6g mature ginger, crushed
- 1 tsp white peppercorns
- 2 stalks spring onions
- 6 tbsp light soy sauce
- ¾ tsp salt
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp rice wine
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil. Add combined ingredients (A). Bring to a simmering boil, then add beef slices. Reduce heat and braise for 1½-2 hours. Halfway through, add radish. Cook until meat and radish is tender.
