Recipe Ingredient
- 210g black glutinous rice flour, sifted
- 80g glutinous rice flour, sifted
- 20g green pea flour (lok tau fun)
- 40g castor sugar
- 200-250ml water
- 3 pandan leaves
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 piece gula Melaka, coarsely chopped
- Combined
- 1/2 grated coconut (use white flesh of coconut only)
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Boil water, pandan leaves and sugar for 3-5 minutes or until sugar dissolves.
- Discard pandan leaves.
- Put sifted flours and green pea flour in a mixing bowl. Pour in hot syrup to mix. Add in oil and work into a soft dough.
- Form small marble-sized balls and wrap each piece around 1-2 pieces of chopped gula Melaka.
- Drop the balls of dough into a pot of boiling water. Cook until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted or perforated spoon. Drop onde-onde into the grated coconut. Toss well to mix.
