Recipe Ingredient
- Sift:
- 150g plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp castor sugar
- Combine:
- 200ml UHT milk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1/8 tsp salt
Instructions
- Put sifted ingredients in a mixing bowl. Stir in sugar. Add milk, egg and butter mixture. Mix well till batter is smooth. Set aside for 30 minutes.
- Strain batter to remove any lumps. Take half a ladle of batter and spread it on a hot greased griddle or non-stick frying pan.
- When crumpets turn golden brown and bubbles are seen on the surface, flip over to brown the other side. Serve crumpets hot with jam or honey.
