IF YOU happen to be in Australia searching for good Malaysian food and recipes, Jackie M is the name you should be looking out for.
Denoted as a high-priestess of Malaysian food by TimeOut Sydney, and the second most influential Australian chef on social media by bandt.com.au, Seremban-born Jackie takes a no-holds barred approach to Asian cooking. It doesn’t hurt that the spunky blonde’s origins involved a background in the food business, thanks to her street-food vendor parents.
At the time of her move to Sydney over 15 years ago, Jackie was all set for a conventional, professional career in IT – until she found her passion for recreating truly authentic Malaysian cuisine for local Aussies to discover.
As it turned out, her decision was all for the best. Ever since her life-changing turnaround of career, Jackie’s continuous efforts of being the best has transformed her into an expert in the ancient techniques and classic flavours of Southeast Asian cooking.
