Chef Foong Ah Kwai proffers his version of fruity Mango Yee Sang with Thai Sauce, Green Guava and Salmon Yee Sang to liven up this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations at Xin Cuisine Chinese restaurant.
AVAILABLE from now until Feb 6, 2012, Xin Cuisine’s refreshing and colourful yee sang salad comes with toppings of jelly fish, salmon, snow pear and abalone or tiger prawn in regular or large portions. Prices range between RM48.00++ and RM188.00++ per serving.
Seasonal waxed delicacies also make their appearance in tempting dishes such as Claypot Waxed Meat Rice, Steamed Chicken with Chinese Sausages, Scrambled Eggs with Waxed Sausages and Vegetables, Minced Pork with Waxed Meat and Yellow Chives, and Steamed Waxed Meat with Arrow Root. Prices for the offerings range between RM35.00++-RM80.00++ per serving, depending on portion sizes.
The crowd-puller is undoubtedly Xin Cuisine’s Prosperity Set Menus (RM898.00++, RM1,188.00++ and RM1,488.00++ per table of 10 persons) featuring the chef’s trademark creations: Braised Teochew-style Pork Knuckle, Roast Suckling Piglet, Steamed Mandarin Garoupa with Soya Sauce, Fried Sea Prawns with Special Sauce, Crispy Shatin Chicken, Braised Sliced Abalone with Dried Oyster and Black Seamoss, Fried Rice with Yam and Chinese Sausages.
Each set meal concludes on a sweet note with Roselle with Pineapple and Konnyaku Jelly.
If you have a penchant for nian gao, then treat yourself to some Sweet Potato Nian Gao with Macadamias, Coconut Shreds and Sesame Paste Nian Gao and Nian Gao with Dried Pork Slices priced at RM9.80++ per order.
Xin Cuisine is closed on the first day of Chinese New Year and reopens for business on January 24 with a lion dance performance by defending world champion, the Kun Seng Keng lion dance troupe, a Beijing acrobatic show and a giant Yee Sang toss-up open to all guests.
