The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Rice Dumpling Festival, falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It is an important festival observed in Chinese culture. The dumplings, made of glutinous rice and wrapped in lotus or bamboo leaves come with various fillings, mainly vegetarian or with meat. InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s chang are handmade with Chef Lo Tian Sion’s secret recipe, using premier ingredients. The Hong Kong ‘Guo Zheng Zong’ Monk-Jump-Over dumpling has a traditional taste, stuffed with dried scallops, mushrooms and other fresh ingredients. The Triangle ‘Khek’ dumpling with Pumpkin and Black Beans are suitable for vegetarians. For something different and unique, ‘Kwai Far’ Dumpling with Imo and Vanilla Ice Cream is a must try. The Trio Flavoured Mini Dumpling appeals to children as it is filled with kaya, Japanese red bean and coconut brown sugar. The dumplings are available until June 7 at Toh Lee Chinese Restaurant. Wild mushrooms galore

Wild mushrooms takes centre-stage at Tosca Italian restaurant at DoubleTree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur. The Wild Mushrooms Extravaganza will run until June 30. Paying homage to some six variants; these less glamorous fungi are prepared in the most exquisite manner, courtesy of executive sous chef Eric Siew. From button to portobello to chestnut mushrooms, it’s a mushroom treat at Tosca. Diners can tuck into Baked Stuff Portobello Mushrooms, Marinated Mixed Wild Mushrooms and Chestnut Mushroom Arancini. The appetizers range from RM 32++ to RM 36++. The main course, priced from RM38++ to RM 65++, offers Fettucine with Portobello, Pizza Boscaiola, Grilled Goldburn rib eye with Pied de Mouton mushrooms, Shredded Lamb Shank and Trumpet Mushroom among others. India food galore

Essence at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel will be featuring Indian chef Rajendra Negi from Mumbai, India until the end of June. Start your euphoric journey with sharp zesty and crunchy salad Hare Moong Ka, home-made pickle with lime or sweet and sour mango. Tempt your taste buds with the rich aroma of Chicken Shorba, a special Indian broth.
