Chatz Brasserie Restaurant at Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur has re-opened after closing for over a month due to refurbishing works, offering customers new flavours at its buffet line.

Adopting a hawker style concept, dishes will be prepared a la minute before you.

The stalls offer chicken rice, noodles, nasi lemak, char kuey teow and fried noodles, grilled items, roti canai, chapati and dim sum.

You can enjoy the buffet on plates lined with banana leaves, just to give you that traditional feel.

If you love seafood, you can opt for grilled seafood items such as sliced seabass, mackerel, baby pomfret and crabs.

At the Caviar Bar, which is only available for dinner, patrons can find freshly made blinis and a variety of fish roe including Masago Orange, Masago Wasabi, Black Lumpfish Caviar, Red Lumpfish Caviar, Capelin Red, Capelin Black, Trout Roe, Salmon Roe, Black Danish and Red Danish.

The Carvery Station offers Roasted Lamb Leg, Roasted Rib Eye and Chicken Roulade.

There is a decent selection of bread and rolls that can be enjoyed with Bresse Bleu, Emmental, Camembert, Gouda or Leyden cheese or sinful choices of butter — garlic, almond and basil.

At the Action Dessert Station, try freshly made orange glaze crepe that can be enjoyed on its own or, as I prefer it, with ice-cream.

I appreciate a unique selection of ice-cream which included gelato green tea, jack fruit and coconut.

I was ecstatic to see that there is lavender ice-cream; it is an acquired taste but I loved it.

The Haagen Dazs chocolate and strawberry ice-cream also had me going for a second helping.

Do not forget the chocolate fountain, served with a selection of condiments, marshmallows and fruits.

The bakery corner completes the buffet breakfast, priced at RM40++ per person.

Opt for a ‘Wake and Take’ at RM35 nett per person if you prefer to takeaway.

Buffet lunch from Monday to Friday is from noon to 2.30pm (RM68++ per person), action buffet dinner on Friday and Saturday, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm (RM88++ per person).

Buffet high tea is also available on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 12.30pm to 4pm (RM58++ per person).

For for buffet lunch, buffet dinner and high tea, there is a 50% discount for children between ages of four and 11 and senior citizens above 55 years old.
