IT is that boisterous festive time of the year when families and friends reunite and catch up over elaborate and colourful sit-down meals.
Chinese New Year at Tai Thong restaurants have always been elaborate and this year the Yee Sang, a must-have salad dish, comes with a difference.
TT Resources Bhd (TTRB) has added a refreshing fruity twist with a zesty tang of fresh crunchy apples in their new Fruity Salmon Yee Sang that goes uniquely well with raw salmon slices and other essentials that make up the dish.
TTRB is offering four types of Prosperity Yee Sang for this festive season – Fruity Salmon Yee Sang, Abalone and Salmon Yee Sang, Salmon Yee Sang and Jellyfish Yee Sang.
Chief Chef Lee Thim Wah of the Imperial City Restaurant in Cheras is introducing the new creation – the Fruity Salmon Yee Sang in all their set dishes with a price range of RM398++ (four to six pax), RM539++ (six to eight pax) and from RM668++ to RM2,628++ (10 pax). There is a complimentary one bottle of red wine with every 10 pax set.
Familiar dishes include Braished Shark’s Fin Soup with Crab Meat and Seafood, Poached Village Chicken with Chinese Herbs, Hong-Kong Style BBQ Suckling Pig and Roasted Suckling Pig with Preserved Beancurd.
The perfectly roasted BBQ meat is yet another must-have festive delicacy with each slice skillfully roasted to perfection, bursting with full flavours of sweet and savoury. However, it is not among the set dishes.
“It comes in three choices of sliced pork meat, minced pork meat and minced chicken meat, each costing RM41.80 per 500g and is available while stocks last.
The Chinese Waxed Meat Rice in Claypot is truly lip-smacking. The fluffy rice topped with fragrant waxed meat items is offered at RM30++ per small pot, RM48++ per medium pot and RM78++per large pot.

TTRB’s latest scrumptious offerings include fresh quality seafood, meat, poultry, delectable dessert pastries and many more, all expertly prepared to satisfy discerning taste buds.
The dishes are available throughout the festive period from Chinese New Year’s eve (Feb 2) to Chap Goh Meh (Feb 17).
Set menu selections vary from outlet to outlet and customers can also opt for takeaways with Tai Thong’s Golden Prosperity Sets, with prices starting from RM248 ++ per set.
