BEGIN the Year of the Snake on an auspicious note with Grand Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s Chinese New Year lunch and dinner buffet.
There will be seven dishes on the special spread this time that offer a mix of modern, traditional and contemporary recipes at the hotel’s Seasons Cafe.
Start the celebration with the must-have Salmon yee sang which symbolises abundance, prosperity and longevity.
When the tossing is done, taste the refreshing Double Boiled Herbal Fish Head Maw Soup with Honey Date.
The stock for the soup is boiled for eight hours before the fresh fish head is added in and is well-cooked to ensure that there is no fishy smell.
Prosperity Imperial Chicken, Stew Stuffed Sea Cucumber on Onion, Garden Green and Braised Assorted Mushroom as well as Dried Oyster Garnished Fatt Choy are the other delectable dishes in the spread.
Meanwhile, the Steamed Garoupa with Black Bean, Root Ginger and Dried Vintage Mandarin and Wok Fried Market Prawn with Spicy Honey are a little savoury.
For dessert, there is a variety of Peranakan and Chinese kuih as well as pastries, fresh fruits and more.
The man behind the preparations, Chef Lee Sai Ying from Ipoh, has more than 12 years of experience in Chinese cuisine.
“I am drawing on my experience to prepare this spread and want it to be special for the guests”.
“We want to give diners the best to usher in the New Year,” he said.
Prosperity Reunion Buffet Dinner (Feb 9) is priced at RM78++ , CNY Buffet Dinner (Feb 10 and 11) is priced at RM60++ and Chap Goh Meh Buffet Dinner (Feb 24 is priced at RM60++).
The hotel also has a separate menu for its CNY Hi-tea (Feb 10 and 11) priced at RM43++.
