EVER wondered what it would feel like to dine 282m above the ground? This Chinese New Year, Atmosphere 360 invites families to welcome the Lunar New Year while dining close to the stars.
The revolving restaurant at the Menara Kuala Lumpur, which used to be called Restoran Berputar Seri Angkasa, recently changed operators.
Recently renamed Atmosphere 360, the new and improved revolving restaurant is all about an experience dining with the stars.
Resident Chinese chef Chan Choo Kean has 11 years experience and will be overseeing the preparation of the special dinners and desserts for the Chinese New Year set menus.
The restaurant will feature Chinese Set Menu dinners starting at RM288 nett per person and daily buffet dinners at RM198 nett for adults and RM138 nett for children until Feb 6.
The set menu dinner features Chan’s Healthy Yee Sang with Salmon Slices.
The yee sang is tasty and comes in generous portions with all the necessary ingredients especially salmon slices and the sauces.
Chan’s Double Boiled Dried Seafood Treasure Shark’s Fin Soup is a treasure indeed, a culmination of 10 hours of hard work.
In preparation, the soup is boiled with chicken for two hours to bring out the flavour.
Then it is boiled again with minced chicken, celery, onions, carrots, and eggs.
Finally, the soup is boiled again with shark’s fin and abalone, and steamed for two hours.
The result is a soup that is rich in flavour.
Another highlight of the Chinese New Year set menu is the Baked Lobster with Cheese Chinese Style.
The cheese and the succulent Boston lobster used by Chan are perfect complements to one another, giving satisfaction with every bite.
Those who appreciate good seafood will be delighted by Chan’s Steamed Cod with Dried Citrus.
The cod fish used is very fresh, with a tender texture.
It is steamed with the dried skin of Mandarin oranges, which results in its unique taste.
Specially for Chinese New Year, Chan has prepared a popular Chinese delicacy — Double Boiled Bird’s Nest with Wolfberries.
It is believed that bird’s nest has aphrodisiac qualities, besides being rich in nutrients.
Nevertheless, the sweet taste and its gelatinous texture make it an exceptional dessert for cleansing the palate.
