TO celebrate the relocation of its Kuala Lumpur outlet, Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant is introducing a set menu featuring a line-up of popular delicacies tagged at an affordable price.
The new Bird’s Nest, Abalone and Scallop Set has seven dishes, and comes at a special price of RM99++ per set compared to its actual total value of RM254++ per set during the promotion period.
Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant executive senior manager Peter Ho said the set was first rolled out at Ah Yat’s restaurants in Singapore some months ago.
“The set was very well received in the Lion City, hence the management decided to introduce it here although some ingredients were tweaked to suit the Malaysian market.”
“The promotion was so popular that the Singaporean restaurants sold up to 200 to 300 sets per day, and even up to 400 to 500 sets on busier days,” he said.
Ho said Ah Yat has become a more familiar name in the Singaporean market after reviews of the Bird’s Nest, Abalone and Scallop Set were featured in the Singaporean media.
The set begins with a dish of Deep Fried Crispy Fresh Prawn Roll with Smoked Duck, followed by a clear and flavourful soup in the form of Double-Boiled Fish Maw with “Tianshan” Snow Lotus.
Fans of molluscs will enjoy the Stewed Whole Fresh Abalone with Japanese Mushroom and Kale, as well as the Pan-Fried Scallop in French Style.
The Deep Fried Fish Fillet in Thai Style adds a bit of “fire” to the palate with its spicy sauce made from a blend of chillies.
The final main dish is the Braised E-Fu Noodles with Mushrooms.
The set ends with Double Boiled Bird’s Nest with Almond Juice for dessert.
Ho said diners could also order the dishes as a la carte items, but will have to pay for the dishes based on the regular price.
Ah Yat specialises in hong kong style’s cuisine and according to Ho, the bulk of the seafood for its Malaysian restaurants was imported from Singapore.
Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant relocated from Avenue K to its present premises at Life Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
The 10,000 sq ft Ah Yat at Life Centre has a seating capacity of up to 500 people, with nine private rooms named after the cities and countries Ah Yat has a presence in.
The Bird’s Nest, Abalone and Scallop Set is available at Ah Yat’s restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.
The promotion is available for both lunch and dinner until October, and may be extended if there is popular demand.
Ho said no reservations or minimum orders was required for the set.
