CHRISTMAS is a time for family members and loved ones, to catch up with their latest news and to enjoy their company.

With the Christmas spirit in mind, The Limestone’s Fine Dining Restaurant at Regalodge Hotel in Ipoh has put together an extravagant five-course dinner menu that is guaranteed to set the stage for a happy festive get-together.

A pastry made with homemade crescent dough and filled with fruits serves as the appetiser.

The appetiser is baked to perfection; the pastry being fluffy and crispy and the sweet fruits stewed to a soft texture that slides down one’s throat.

Next is the soup, where diners can choose from a clear roast turkey consommé with rosemary, carrot, potato, leek and chickpeas or a delightfully creamy leek and potato soup with mushrooms and smoked salmon.

This is followed by a light refreshment of fruit sorbet, before one indulges in one of three main course selections available.

Poultry lovers will find no fault with the chicken confit as the tender and succulent meat is matched well with soft carrots and mashed potatoes.

For those picking the fish option, the seared halibut with pumpkin cannelloni, clams and butter sauce will not be disappointed with its generous portion and well-balanced taste.

As for the braised lamb rack with prunes, raisins, cheesy potato and special sauce, the lamb is baked to such a succulent texture that no sharp cutlery or vigorous slicing is needed to enjoy the dish.

To wrap things up, diners can choose from either the baked almond and hazelnut meringue filled with soft berries or the black forest trifle layered with chocolate cake, cream and cherries, a delightful sweet end to a filling dinner.

The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meal is priced at RM139++ per pax and comes with either a mocktail or cocktail.
