CATCH the final sunset of 2012 as you dine alfresco at The Village Restaurant at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside.
The alfresco setting offers diners a beautiful view of the lake and provides a romantic ambience for couples.
Start the meal with the appetising Fresh Prawn with mango compote on mix leaves with citrus vinaigrette and fried pasta skin.
According to The Village chef de cuisine Firdaus Ismail, who spent a month to come up with the menu, “We use local tiger prawns. The vinaigrette is made with lime juice, vinegar and chopped onion.”
Next, we were served Shiitake Mushroom Soup laced with rosemary infused oil sundried tomato, served with parmesan crepe, butter and herbs.
The chunky mushroom adds texture to this flavourful soup that could be a meal on its own.
For the main course, you can opt for Seared Salmon Steak with Garlic Mash, Vegetable Medley, and Chive Beurre Blanc or Roasted Chicken Breast with Asian Seasonal Vegetables, Ginger Polenta Cake and Morel Sauce.
“I chose salmon because it is a healthy way to end the year. It is marinated with dill, garlic and olive oil for 24 hours.
Appetising: Fresh Prawn with mango compote on mix leaves with citrus vinaigrette and fried pasta skin.
“The white sauce Chive Beurre Blanc, is made of lemon sauce, a dash of white wine, and chopped dill,” he said.
The roasted chicken was well marinated and went well with balsamic vinegar.
Lastly, end 2012 on a sweet note with the sinful New Year Chocolate Symphony.
“It is made of rich chocolate mousse with strawberry sauce, topped with kiwi, strawberry and cranberries.
“We serve many chocolate-based desserts, they are a favourite among our diners,” said Firdaus.
The set dinner, priced at RM180++ per person, is available from 7pm to 11pm on Dec 31.
The hotel celebrates this festive season with a “Free-Co-Meeting” package. For every 30 delegates per meeting, get a complimentary full/ half-day meeting for one person for free.
