The business development director Simone Coletta said the pizza and pasta experts were the Italians, and here guests could enjoy the “real” deal.
“Urbano” meant urban and “Fresco” meant fresh in Italian.
The restaurant hoped to serve urbanities freshly prepared Italian food at an affordable price.
“Our food is of high quality and is value for money, We use the finest ingredients which enable diners to savour the taste of the food.
“Locals here are used to the American version of fast food pizzas which tastes vastly different from the original Italian pizza,” said Coletta, an Italian.
To ensure the freshness of the product, ingredients such as the mozzarella is kept no longer than a week from the date of purchase.
The oil and the flour used are also specially imported from Italy.
To ensure freshness, most vegetables used for cooking are sourced from Cameron Highlands.
Coletta said the dishes served at the restaurant were pork free and there were several items on the menu specially catered for vegetarians.
“Pork is an important ingredient in most Italian dishes but our dishes are prepared using poultry and seafood,” said Coletta.
Based on his observation, Malaysians, especially the Chinese, preferred stronger flavours from vegetables such as mushrooms.
He said locals enjoyed pineapple on their pizza and it was not a common ingredient used in Italian pizza.
“Since most guests request for pineapple on their pizza we have included it on our menu,” he said.
