OVER 250 mouth-watering dishes await eager diners looking to break fast during the holy month of Ramadan at Riverside Restaurant in Putra World Trade Centre.
The extensive spread features many popular local dishes such as Sotong Goreng Kunyit, Labu Masak Lemak, Ekor Assam Pedas, Dalca Kambing and countless others.
The buffet will also include some Western dishes.
The whole lamb, which will be available throughout Ramadan, is carved in front of diners while the beef is served hot off the grill.
Executive chef Suzaini Mohamed Salih has prepared six different menus that will be rotated daily to provide diners a variety of dishes throughout the holy month.
“We have dishes from various states in Malaysia including Johor, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan and Malacca that will be featured in the buffet,” he said.
The buffet will also feature stalls and counters where diners can enjoy dishes like tom yam, laksa, chicken and duck rice, pisang goreng, cucur udang, a variety of soups, ice kacang, cendol and many more.
With the many choices, diners should remember to make room for the impressive spread of traditional Malay kueh, assorted local fruits, wajik, bubur kacang, bubur cha cha, bubur pulut hitam and many more.
PWTC chief executive officer Datuk Maxson Abdullah H. Jaafar said diners could also bring back some food for sahur the next day.
“Our chefs will help pack up some food for diners to bring home so that they will be set for sahur in the morning,” he said.
He also added that they were expecting to accommodate around 8,000 diners throughout the holy month.
“Last year, we attracted around 7,000 people to break fast here, so I am expecting that number to increase this year,” he said.
Besides the food, surau facilities will be provided for diners to perform their Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawikh prayers with the imam at PWTC’s Surau Ar Rahman, located one floor above.
Not only that, Riverside Restaurant will be treating 30 orphans to break fast at the restaurant during two sessions — August 4 and 11 — which will also be attended by a few popular artists.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, diners can enjoy their bountiful feast accompanied by performances by ghazal group Asli Sri Mawar led by Isma of Akademi Fantasia fame.
The buffet which will start from July 21 until August 19 is open from 7pm to 10pm. The buffet is priced at RM65++ for adults while children between six and 12 year will pay according to their age.
