TANTALISING Peranakan cuisine from creative mind of chef Kevin Chua is a popular Ramadan menu at Estadia Hotel, the newest addition of property by Hatten Group at the heart of historic city.
Chua shops for all ingredients and prepares customisable gourmet Peranakan meals and home-style dinners for the hotel guests. The chef with more than two decades of culinary experience has unveiled a fusion between Malay, Indian species blending with Chinese style cooking for his Ramadan menu.
“I hope my Ramadan dishes will tantalise the tastebud of the guests as these dishes are prepared with the spirit of being truly a Malaysian,” he said.
The wide variety of ingredients that Chua used to prepare the ranges of traditional Peranakan meals are available during the Ramadan month at the hotel’s Makan Nyonya Restaurant.
Located on the third floor of the hotel, Makan Nyonya Restaurant is an all-day dining restaurant offering a blend of Peranakan cuisine and local specialties.
With the perfect blend of both the Chinese and Malay panache of fusion cooking, the taste of Peranakan cuisine is usually tangy, spicy and aromatic with much use of herbs and spices.
