VALENTINE’S Day is around the corner and expressions of love abound, from greeting cards with lovey-dovey messages to dainty little heart-shaped chocolates.

While some may frown at the very idea of Valentine’s, for others it’s a day to be shared with that special someone.

And what better way to pamper your sweetheart than with a cosy and intimate candlelight dinner?

At Klana Resort Seremban, it’s a celebration of love with a specially concocted menu to get guests in the mood for romance.

Dine on a four-course Western set dinner prepared by New Zealand-trained chef Noor Eliziadi Abidin or Chef Eddie, and his team at the hotel’s Cascades Lounge.

The highlight of this romantic meal is its fresh and clean flavours which is sure to go down well with dinner guests.

“What’s important is the quality of ingredients. Fuss-free cooking allows the ingredients to shine on its own.

“Presentation is also key as food not only has to taste good but look appetising as well,” said the chef.

For starters, Chef Eddie is serving up A New Beginning — prawns cooked three ways — poached in lemon grass with an unusual falooda basil seed mayo, grilled with a homemade BBQ sauce and deep-fried with an egg noodle wrap.

This will be followed by Lover’s Choice, a smooth cream of pumpkin soup served with garlic butter croutons.

This dish is simple, not too heavy on the palate and a welcome change from the usual cream of mushroom soup.

For mains, you can choose from not two but three options — fish, chicken or beef, whichever suits your fancy.

Those who prefer seafood can opt for the pan-fried red snapper fillet with brocollini and soy butter sauce.

The sauce is made with a fish stock reduction and a splash of soy for flavour.

Instead of fish, you could have grilled chicken breast with smoked paprika flavoured mash potatoes and sauteed vegetables, or grilled beef sirloin with braised vegetables and roasted potatoes.

Both dishes will be accompanied by the sauce of your choice — choose either a mustard shallot jus (made with beef stock) or a cream-based peppercorn sauce.

To finish off the V-Day meal, chef Eddie has whipped up Sweet Cuddle — strawberry gateau mille-feuille with choc mud pie and strawberry coulis and espresso tiramisu with coffee tart served with biscotti and fruit cocktail.

The desserts are scrumptious and the idea is to pick one each and share it so you can taste them both.

The Valentine’s Dinner is priced at RM200++ per couple but early birds (the first 10 couples to book) need only pay RM150++.

Make your reservations early as there is only room for 30 couples.

Ladies will receive door gifts and each couple will be served complimentary mocktails or wine as a welcome drink.

Dinner will be served from 7.30 until 10.30pm on Feb 14.
