FOOD lovers do not need to travel far to savour traditional dishes from Perak.
Semarak Cafe at the Grand Bluewave Hotel, Shah Alam is serving authentic Perak cuisine on weekdays throughout this month.
Themed Sajian Silam Istana Perak, the promotion offers food that its inspired by cuisine of the Perak palace of yesteryear.
Start the gastronomic adventure with starters like Sup Telur Labua and Mee Udang Kuala Sepetang.
For main dishes, distinct Perak favourites such as Rendang Tok, Udang Sambal Tempoyak and Dhalca Kerisik Tulang are available on the buffet spread.
Besides that, Dendeng Kambing Berkentang and Ayam Masak Hitam also go well with the various rice dishes such as Nasi Minyak Kacang Gajus and Nasi Ulam Pucuk Kaduk.
One must also try the Ikan Pekasam, a salted, dried fish that is very popular among Perakians.
Desserts like Pulut Serawa Durian, Sira Pisang and Bubur Cha-cha that are cooked to perfection are great to wrap up the feast.
The food was prepared by the hotel’s chef Shumizan Mohd Ali, who hails from Pengkalan Hulu Perak, and chef Abdul Rashid Mohd Yusop.
According to hotel manager Mohd Ghazali Sayed Ibrahim, Perak has many popular dishes that come with a wide range of tastes and flavours.
“Apart from promoting the dishes with city-dwellers, the promotion is also being carried out in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2012,” he said.
The lunch buffet is priced at RM75.00++ for adults, RM55.00++ for senior citizens and RM35.00++ for children.
