JAPANESE cuisine known for its attention to detail will serve as a good choice to express how much you appreciate the great care mum has shown over the years.

Komura Japanese Restaurant at Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur will be treating mothers to authentic delicacies from the Land of the Rising Sun, in the eat-all-you-can style on May 12 and 13.

Combining the best from the restaurant’s popular weekend eat-all-you-can spreads, the Mother’s Day promotion offers a better variety at RM69++ per adult and RM49++ per child.

The best part of it is the delights are prepared upon order by chef Chia Tuck Meng who has 32 years of experience under his belt.

“I believe in keeping the dishes authentic because that is what diners want to taste, therefore most of the dishes on the menu are traditional Japanese goodies,” Chia said.

To achieve that, many raw ingredients are imported from Japan while the salmon is from Norway. Fine ocha and sake are also at hand to complement the delicacies.

Mothers can tuck into more than 50 dishes which, apart from the must-have sushi and sashimi, include yakimono (grilled dishes), agemono (fried dishes), sunomono (vinegered dishes), nimono (boiled dishes), mushimono (steamed dishes) and teppanyaki.

Make sure you do not miss the succulent US sirloin cubes and sizable scallops prepared teppanyaki style, as well as mixed tempura platter that features some uncommon ingredients such as pumpkin.

Seafood fried rice that entices with a generous amount of salmon, squid and prawn, and carrot and green pepper added in to create contrasting texture, is specially prepared for the Mothers’ Day promotion. Also check out Chikuwa Age, fish cake specially flown in to please mothers.

Butterfish, cuttlefish and octopus are sashimi delights, cut into firm, thick slices while flying fish roe is ready to be savoured as sushi.

Spider Roll (soft shell crab roll), shishamo (pregnant fish) and unagi kabayaki (eel) have also been made available for one-time order.

Do conclude the special spread with chef’s homemade macha or sesame ice-cream, which promise to leave an impression especially when enhanced with a dash of smooth, creamy red beans.

The hotel’s Dondang Sayang Coffee House and Ming Palace Chinese Restaurant are also having other Mothers’ Day promotion. Mothers will receive a complimentary gift while there are a host of activities to sizzle up the dining experience, in addition to 20% savings on selected menus.
