IT IS, once again, time for sumptuous reunion dinners and gatherings with family and friends to mark the Lunar New Year.

Instead of going down the traditional route, which not everyone may enjoy, opt for a casual buffet dinner that includes all your favourite festive treats as well as a variety of Indian, Malay and Western dishes to suit all taste buds.

At Grand Lexis Port Dickson, executive chef Goh Thong Lee and his team have carefully planned an extensive menu featuring the ubiquitous yee sang and other traditional must-haves, including dishes such as Steamed Fish with Ginger and Soy Ssauce, Stir-Fried Prawns with Hot Bean Paste, Hot and Sour Soup with Crabmeat, and Fish Maw and Braised Mushrooms ? alongside sushi, a variety of curries and roast lamb with mint sauce.

Goh said much thought had gone into selecting the dishes for the menu to ensure that even fussy eaters would not complain.

“Traditional dishes may not have much appeal to the younger crowd and non-Chinese patrons. That’s why we decided to include a variety of dishes, including curries and sushi,” he said.

The International Prosperity Buffet Dinner at the hotel is priced at RM88nett per adult and RM38nett for children aged four to 12. Dinner will be served at the Duyung Restaurant from Feb 9 to 11.

Meanwhile, next door to the Grand Lexis, its sister-property Lexis Port Dickson will be serving a Chinese New Year buffet of its own, which will also offer a combination of local and international favourites including yee sang, pasta and spicy curries.

With different menus over three nights beginning on Chinese New Year’s Eve, diners will be spoilt for choice.

The spread on Chinese New Year’s Day will also include steamboat.

For dessert, expect the usual sweet treats and traditional Chinese pancakes, cookies and candies.

The buffet at Lexis PD’s Coffee House from Feb 9 to Feb 11 is priced at RM75nett (adult) and RM36nett (children).
