IF you are looking for nice ambience and a good view, try Fitou Brasserie.
Located at the corner lot of a row of restaurants at The Water-front of Desa Park City, Kuala Lumpur, this outlet offers a selection of Mediterranean cuisine with a view of a lake.
Restaurant owner R. David has just revamped the menu to cater to the growing number of foreign customers over the last two years.
Tapas is on the menu and if you like it, try the Salmon Tartare at Fitou Brasserie.
This is a light dish and perfect when entertaining friends for tea or even during happy hour.
Apart from this, the Prawn Arrabiatta is also a must-try.
The prawns are fresh and sweet, leaving you craving for more.
Another interesting tapas offering is the Prawn Bacon. Here, prawns are layered with streaky pork bacon, tantalising one’s taste bud.
The Chicken Salad served with creamy grain mustard, onions, cherry tomatoes, peppers, capers and balsamic dressing is a choice for the health conscious.
Other options on the menu include Smoked Salmon, which had Norwegian salmon, mixed greens and capers, and Nicoise, a French salad with tuna and Fitou’s dressing (a signature dressing prepared by chef Jason Tan), among others.
One of the signature dishes served at the restaurant is paella, a Spanish rice dish.
At Fitou, Tan uses Arborio rice with Iranian saffron and a variety of seafood such as prawns, squids and clams to prepare the paella.
Served in a pan, the dish basically looks golden yellow due to the saffron.
Another popular rice dish is risotto served with mushrooms and cheese.
I normally do not favour creamy dishes but I would make an exception here as the ingredients used and the flavours are delectable.
If you crave red meat, the Beef Stroganoff is an item not to be missed.
Tan uses tenderloin beef and serves it with buttered rice.
Meanwhile, Fitou’s famous Chocolate Fondant was the dessert to die for.
Tan used Italian chocolate, butter, eggs and flour to prepare it.
The outer layer was a crust and the inner part was soft and delicious, which left me wanting more.
The restaurant also offers kids set meals and family combo deals, along with a wide range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
