WITH Chinese New Year around the corner, families can prepare to feast like kings (or rather, emperors and empresses) at Dorsett Grand Subang.
To usher in the Year of the Horse, diners will be spoilt for choice with the array of special promotions being offered at The Emperor Chinese restaurant.
Choose from a selection of four set menus for your Chinese New Year family reunion dinner, which consists of yee sang and an eight-course dinner, catering for eight to 10 persons.
One of my personal favourites from set menu B, the Happiness Menu, is the Roasted Crispy Spring Chicken.
The Roasted Crispy Spring Chicken is one dish that should not be missed as the meat is cooked to perfection.
Small enough to serve half a chicken per person, the meat is very tender and it goes perfectly with the sour sauce.
For those who enjoy seafood, the Wok-Fried White Prawns with Creamy Butter Sauce and Chicken Floss in set menu C, the Longevity Menu, should not be missed.
This dish consists of a generous portion of large white prawns that have been cooked to perfection and seasoned with a tasty butter sauce.
Diners opting for the a la carte dishes may choose to order the Prosperity Rainbow Yee Sang with Crispy Soft Shell Crab and Korean Pear for their reunion meal.
Though otherwise seemingly ordinary, the addition of crispy soft shell crab makes a huge difference to the yee sang in terms of taste, so be sure not to miss out on it.
Double-Boiled Cordyceps Flower with Dried Scallops and Black Chicken Soup is warm, savoury and tasty.
The Emperor’s Set Menus, Fortune, Happiness, Longevity and Prosperity Menus are priced at RM988++, RM1,188++, RM1,388++ and RM1,588++ respectively per table.
The selection of yee sang may also be ordered à la carte starting from RM48++ for a half portion.
The Emperor also offers a wide variety of their specialty dishes to be ordered a la carte, for parties who choose not to have the set menus.
