BREWSTER’S is changing for the better this month. This popular eatery in Ipoh has introduced something new on its menu – buffet dinners!
While being a welcome addition given that Ipoh lacks good buffet dinner options, it will also give locals the opportunity to savour the ‘real food’ which Brewster’s is synonymous with.
Served on Fridays and Saturdays, this Western-style buffet priced at RM50++ features some of the eatery’s favourites with a few surprises thrown in.
Owner Albert Toong has cooked up some new dishes for the buffet.
This includes a variety of quiches as well as other main dishes such roast pork and lamb plus garlic butter prawns.
The garlic butter prawns is a simple but delicious dish of fresh, succulent prawns smothered in flavourful herbs, olive oil and whole black olives.
The prawns go very well with bread.
Diners also have the option of choosing a la carte dishes (subject to additional charges) from a special menu which will be available only on buffet days.
Toong said the special menu, which was somewhat different from the regular menu, was created to offer diners more food options.
Aside from their new buffet, Brewster’s is also serving set lunches priced from RM25.
Diners can choose from pasta, lamb, sirloin steaks and numerous other dishes as the main course along with a soup and a dessert.
As for its regular menu, Toong assured loyal patrons that old favourites such as pork chop, roast chicken, tequila lime fish and lamb are still available, and there will be new offerings as and when inspiration strikes him.
One such dish he was inspired to cook up is the pork knuckle pasta which is an ‘Asianised’ pasta dish.
It is basically a soup pasta rich with the flavours of pork, celery and fresh shitake mushrooms.
It makes for a light yet wholesome and tasty dish, and is great for the kids too.
There’s also a pool table for diners to play on as they chill out at Brewster’s with friends and family after a hearty meal.
