Goodness in a bowl at coffeeshop in Kota Damansara.

THERE is a decent chee yuk fun (pork noodles) (top pic) stall in a coffeeshop in Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara.

It is located in DU Cafe (N 03°09’05.7”, E 101°35’39.2”) located off Jalan PJU 5/10.

I first came to know about this place seven years ago when my colleague Eddie Chua treated me to a bowl of chee yuk fun there.

We tasted the noodles with two other fishing kakis when we were on our way to Kemaman in Terengganu for squid-jigging.

Recently, I made a follow-up visit to the coffeeshop and ordered a large bowl of pork noodles (RM6) with some extra ingredients thrown in.

The cook worked his magic by preparing my order and just watching him at work was a spectacle.

The noodle dish was not disappointing at all.

I found the portion generous with plenty of ingredients.

My benchmark for the “gold standard” in chee yuk fun is Peter Pork Noodles in Mayfair Food Court, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

And on a scale of 1 to10, I would rate DU Cafe’s Chee Yuk Fun at 7.

The stall opens daily for breakfast and lunch and closes late in the afternoon.

If you decide to take a trip to Dataran Sunway, use the indoor parking complex as parking bays are really scarce in the area.
