SUBMERGE yourself in the Balik Kampung atmosphere at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur’s Ramadan buffet this year and treat yourself to an amazing array of colourful dishes served.
Semarak Ramadhan, is the theme of this year’s spread, with a whopping 300 over different delicacies to match any food palate.
Stepping into the hotel’s Planter’s Inn cafe will immediately take you home, with their authentic kampung-like stalls and a wide variety of food at each stall.
You will also be in the presence of the lively Ghazal band performances to complete the perfect ambiance to a perfect Ramadan month.
Planter’s Inn is introducing a more extensive menu compared to last year, filled with fresh and new varieties.
Executive Chef Mohd Ridzuan Abd Malek said, “All the ingredients used in this year’s menu are low in fat and friendly on the waist. Expect low fat mayonnaise, fresh milk instead of santan, and olive oil amongst other healthier ingredients.”
Ridzuan also said the food served will be cut into tinier portions so guests are able to try all 300 over varieties served.
Local kuehs.“My idea is for our guests to get a chance to sample everything served at the buffet. Hence, we will cut the meat into smaller portions so the guests will have ample space in their stomachs to try out everything at the spread.”
The hotel is also proud to introduce a number of new dishes to their menu this year. Among the must tries are venison cooked in delicious spicy gravy, a Mongolian BBQ with a huge variety of items for on-the-spot grilling, Nasi Kandar and Nasi Briyani and fried ice-cream for dessert.
The chicken rendang is another item on the must try list. Delicately marinated and chopped into bite-size pieces, the meat simply melts in your mouth leaving a sweet and tangy flavour of the rendang taste.
There are also plenty of other mouth-watering sweet delicacies to chose from for dessert, ranging from cakes to nyonya kuih, a chocolate fondant with marshmallows and much more.
There will also be a variety of dim sum served at the buffet.
“This is something different for us. We have a wide amount of halal dim sum dishes to choose from and this is rarely found. I hope our guests will take advantage of this and enjoy the selection served,” said Ridzuan.
Other local favourites.There will also be a noodle station with at least six different types of noodles. Whether you want your noodles fried or in soup, have them with a delicious number of ingredients varying from shrimps to fish cakes, tofu, bean sprouts, chicken and other.
The pasta station serves up four different types of pasta with three different sauces: Tomato Bolognese, Mushroom Sauce and a spicy bolognese sauce for an authentic Malaysian feel.
