Asahi Super Dry, Japan’s first dry beer and the No. 1 premium lager beer in Japan, is now available fresh on draught in Malaysia!
Carlsberg Malaysia has sealed a partnership with Asahi Breweries Ltd, one of the largest breweries in Japan, to manufacture, sell and distribute Asahi Super Dry beer in Malaysia.
Asahi (which means Rising Sun) is best known for its “Karakuchi” dry style, and the beer is a super-crisp, refreshing, easy drinking lager that does not have a bitter hoppy aftertaste that most lagers tend to have.
Asahi Super Dry will soon be available on tap in selected Carlsberg outlets around Klang Valley and all over Malaysia.
Grant’s 12 Year Old
Grant’s 12 Year Old blended Scotch whisky is now available in Malaysia. The whisky was officially launched on Nov 30 in conjunction with St. Andrew’s Day (Scotland’s National Day) at Flo’s Lounge in Hotel Equatorial.
Although Grant’s Family Reserve is widely available in Malaysia, this is the first time that this particular expression of the award-winning whisky is being introduced in Asia.
According to Grant’s global brand ambassador Ludovic Ducrocq, Grant’s 12 Year Old comprises up to 13 different single-malt whiskies, and single-grain whisky from the company’s very own grain distillery in Girvan. After blending, the liquid is then matured for 12 years, and finished in first-filled American whisky casks for up to six months.
The 12 Year Old was named Best Scotch whisky (12 years and under) and Best Scotch Blended whisky at the 2007 World Whisky Awards, Valiantrade (M) Sdn Bhd is the sole local distributor for Grant’s 12 year old in Malaysia.
Little Creature invasion
The popular Australian ale Little Creatures is now available in Malaysia! The beer is a hand-crafted ale brewed by an independent brewery in Fremantle, Western Australia, and since its introduction in 2000, it has grown to become one of the most popular craft brews in Australia.
The beer’s name refers to the live yeast that is present in every bottle of Little Creatures Pale Ale, which are affectionately known as the “Little Creatures”.
The two Little Creatures beers that will be available in Malaysia are the Pale Ale (a light, fruity yet hoppy ale), and the Bright Ale (a more crisp and lighter version of the Pale Ale). Little Creatures is distributed by Luen Heng F&B Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Carlsberg Malaysia; and will be available at selected Carlsberg outlets in Klang Valley only.
