FANCY a BBQ dinner without the hassle of putting together a grill?
You may want to give Tuscany Italian-American Grill at Putrajaya Marriott a try.
On Fridays, the restaurant is doing a “Thank Goodness It’s Barbecue Fridays” comprising a wide range of meat, chicken and seafood ready to be grilled.
There are also sausages to complete the BBQ dinner experience.
The restaurant also offers a shaded al fresco area where diners can feel relaxed while enjoying the scrumptious offerings of meat such as striploin, T-bone steak, tenderloin, ribeye, and prime ribs.
There are also chicken wings, jumbo prawns and snow fish.
For RM110 nett per person, the price is worth it as the steak portions are huge.
Diners can choose what they want to be barbecued and the chef will season the meat with salt and pepper, followed by grilling the meat according to the doneness of your choice.
During the preview, I sampled a few things on offer, such as the ribeye steak and chicken wings.
As the meat is only seasoned with salt and pepper, I could taste the meat better.
The restaurant’s chef de cuisine Ahmad Tajuddin Yusof said they had to use frozen meat because there was a shortage of fresh meat during the preview night.
I also noticed that the raw meat, chicken and seafood were devoid of marinade, which is rather unusual when we have a barbecue.
As such, the meat was a little bland, but the gravy of black pepper and mushroom sauce helped add flavour.
However, I do prefer my seafood without the gravy as I could taste the sweetness of the prawns and fish.
Ahmad Tajuddin said he also used pineapples in his bbq sauce.
“The pineapple helps to give a sweet taste,” he said.
It would have been better if the chicken was marinated earlier so that the flavour could seep into the meat to make it more tasty.
Apart from the grilled offerings, they also have the bbq beef brisket (top pic), which is a must-try.
It has a sweet and savoury taste, with a slight smoky flavour.
Ahmad Tajuddin said he marinades the brisket for three days in olive oil, salt and pepper and herbs, before roasting them for 45 minutes.
Apart from the barbecue feast, there are also cold cuts, a cheese platter and soup.
As for desserts, diners can try the variety of pies such as strawberry, apple and blueberry pies and many others.
The buffet pricing includes a glass of house wine or mocktail.
Additional wine or mocktail carafes go for RM40 nett per carafe, which serves four pax. Children aged seven to 12 eat for RM67nett.
